Luckily, there are so many great things to do in London that won’t cost you a penny more than the cost of your tube/train or ferry to get there! Obviously one of the best free things to do with your dog is exploring London’s many parks. We won’t give it all away, but here are some of our favorites to fill your weekend…

(1-8) Royal Gardens – A walk through one (or all) of London’s Royal Gardens should be on everyone’s London bucket list. Choose from Hyde Park, St James’s Park, Regent’s Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens, Greenwich, Richmond and Bushy Park, all with so much to offer. In every park, there are areas where dogs must be kept on a lead and others where they are not (see here) but there is still plenty for dogs to do. Technically that’s eight different things to do but who’s counting.

(9) Hackney Marshes – Hackney Marshes is a favorite of many East London dog lovers and if you don’t know the area but feel like exploring, then our friends at Fetch and Follow have recommended Hackney Marshes for you.

(10) Epping Forest – As featured in London’s gardens every dog ​​owner should visit, London’s largest park is a dog’s dream. With over 2,400 hectares to explore, it will keep you coming back time and time again.

(11) Hampstead Heath – North Londoners who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital but still enjoy the stunning views of the London skyline from Parliament Hill. It also hosts many London Dog events.

(12) Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – Discover what has been called the UK’s most charming city park, stroll along the Leigh Valley River or see the Olympic rings that still stand around Leigh Valley Willow Park.

(13) Battersea Park – Home to the beautiful Peace Pagoda and lots of places for dogs to walk, Battersea Park near the Albert Bridge or Chelsea Bridge is one of London’s best parks.

As usual, London attractions aren’t dog friendly and we understand why, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use them as ‘Gram’ photos. Here are some of our favorite London brands to style the Pope…

(14) Buckingham Palace – Although this honor is definitely for dog lovers, we should make plenty of photo opportunities outside. We especially like the mural in front of the main entrance to the Victoria Memorial. Watch out for the little ones, you might accidentally find yourself turning into a tourist attraction in the process.

(15) Bridge Bridge – Although dogs are allowed to visit the Bridge Bridge (humans have to pay to visit), in our opinion the photos outside are good and there are some great views like the one near the river. Sundials at St. Catharine stations.

(16) Notting Hill – One of the most beautiful and beautiful neighborhoods of London is perfect for walking with your child. You may want to avoid Saturdays when Notting Hill is busiest as this is the main day for the Portobello market.

(21) Lake Street Graffiti Tunnel – A hidden underground graffiti tunnel under Waterloo that will blow your mind. Visible during the day as opposed to night, there is also an outer section near the lower marsh at the end of the tunnel.

(22) Brick Lane – famous not only for its weekend street market (it’s on Sunday) but also for its street art. The best street art is found on the side streets off Brick Lane itself towards the Shoreditch end.

(23) Pedley Street – We stopped by this way one day and couldn’t believe what was packed into this unique street on Brick Lane – murals and street art murals waiting to pass along the underground train line. .

(24) Dalston Eastern Curve Garden – A garden in the center of Dalston with a pizza cafe to go with it. It’s named after the old railway line it was built on and is highly recommended by Lira’s Belgian Malinois, as featured in Lira’s My Dog-Friendly London Guide.

(25) Post Garden – This public garden near St. Paul’s Cathedral is not just any garden, it is home to the “Memorial of Brave Sacrifice” with 54 statues dedicated to an ordinary person who saved someone else’s life. Died doing extraordinary work for. – You want me to read each one.

(26) Nomads Community Garden – In keeping with the street art of East London, Nomads Community Garden is an eclectic mix of colors and textures – definitely on the street. One to add to some of the street art tips above to look out for as it is off Pedley Road (you may have seen it on the subway as you enter Shoreditch).

(27) Osterley House – An oasis in west London, this beautiful National Trust property offers free entry to its informal gardens, as highlighted in our review last month.

(28) Morden Hall Park – Another National Trust property, South West London’s Morden Hall Park that won’t cost you a penny to walk around, read all about it here.

(29) Marble Hill House – Also in south-west London, Marble Hill House is set in 66 acres of riverside gardens in Twickenham, perfect for a weekend getaway (as (Clover featured in Chow My Dog-Friendly London Guide)

(30) Kenwood House – We have not yet been to Kenwood House in Hampstead, North London, but we have good advice that the gardens are beautiful and worth a visit which we hope to do soon.

(31-36) London loves street markets (food) and so do we. Fortunately, most dogs are very welcome. Choose from Spitalfields, Maltby Street, Flea at Wingyard, Greenwich, Camden Stables and Brockley to name a few. Choose from our guide to dog street food markets and stalls. Going there may be free but you may not be able to indulge in some of the worst street food fare that will cost you extra.

(37) Ruislip Lido Dog Beach – London’s only dedicated ‘dog park’ in West London. It’s part of Ruislip Lido, think of other lakes from the beach, but still fun for the kids to visit, read all about our visit to Ruislip Lido Dog Beach here.

(38) Go Dog Agility – There are many public dog walks and parks in London but Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park in Kennington is the most central. It also happens to be home to the amazing Imperial War Museum and the Tibetan Peace Garden. More than when we visited here.

(39) Regent’s Canal Walk – One of the funnest dog-friendly things we’ve done since starting the blog was taking a dog-friendly electric go-boat down the Regent’s Canal, but of course it’s not free. A walk along the Regent’s Canal is free though and you can follow the Little Venice to Camden route map from the Canal and River Trust to guide you.
